Paint and Refinish Training Process
Beginning April 5, 2004, painters have a new tool to help in
their paint and refinish training. Soon to be available is a new
training process that includes a 2-part online evaluation. The
process allows knowledgeable painters an expedited path to satisfying
their STS requirement and to certification.
Painters who wish to receive credit for GM Paint and Refinish
Certification (22041.00) will be able to take an online evaluation
at the GM Training Website. Upon passing the two-part evaluation,
and then a shortened in-shop evaluation, painters will receive
certification. Painters who need or desire further training in
a skill area are still able to complete training courses at their
dealership’s paint supplier’s facilities. For painters
who pass both parts of the online evaluation, however, there is
no need to complete paint and refinish courses.
