GM STC is a change from traditional instructor-based techniques to blended learning,
a range of flexible delivery methods. This strategy better supports service technician
training, which reaches more than 7,000 GM dealer locations nationwide.
The blended learning media mix includes computer-based training, Web-based training,
interactive distance learning, video, hands-on, simulations and print based training.
GM STC works with service technicians, dealers and other personnel to determine the
best blend of these resources when developing the curriculum.
By providing in-dealership training, GM STC increases the number of trained
technicians and improves their product knowledge and repair and diagnostic skills.
